Agility tests are designed by the Royal Military College of Science (RMC) and designed for UK professionals to take. I believe that this type of exam is used by many places outside of the UK and therefore this is a test that you need to be able to pass to get your job.
Agility tests are challenging and come with a lot of elements, such as time limit and points value. You need to be in top condition to do well in this type of exam.
Agility tests are some of the hardest tests to do, you are timed throughout the exam and you are given a rating as to how well you performed. This isn’t always easy to do so I thought I would show you how easy it is to pass the agility test.
Agility exams are made up of three parts; open water swimming, obstacle courses and sports such as a 15m leg carry. The last part of the agility test, sports allows you to complete exercises such as running up and down stairs, keeping your body balanced on a ladder and more.
Agility tests were designed for military training purposes. Because of this reason the testing protocol needs to be carried out correctly. In order to do this correctly, it’s vital to understand what type of test it is and what format should be followed.
Agility tests are made up of two sections; a land portion and an open water portion. The land portion is going to include things such as walking and climbing various obstacles while the open water portion will see you swim laps, get carried and pull double duty with the ladder.
The style of the test that is used will depend on where you’re taking the agility test from. In the UK the format is normally a land version and the open water version, but in other places you may find them different.
One of the things you need to remember about agility is that the test is split into a dexterity part and a restorative part. When you first begin the agility test, you will begin in the dexterity section where you are supposed to do slow tasks such as getting a ball on a table and then holding it up while keeping a close eye on it.
When you get through the dexterity part you should then move onto the restorative part which is an endurance type of work. Doing exercises like sitting on a stool and getting legs up to your knees and back down again.
Many people aren’t aware of this, but the agility test was designed for a medical profession as opposed to athletes. If you want to pass the agility test, you need to have a certain level of fitness and ability to carry out the tasks that are presented.
If you’ve got the stamina and mental fortitude to sit for your agility test, then you should be in the running for a new job. Please consider all this and think on it.
