Just about anything can damage your logs. Even a little moisture, a little insect infestation, and a little bit of stress can ruin them, as will constant use.
A lot of people see their logs and say, “I’ll just take it down.” This is a mistake. When you take it down, you’re letting everything go to hell and losing money on it.
Taking your logs down and starting over with fresh logs is a very expensive job. If you do it, you might be using your logs for a long time and that means you’re going to need to rent someone to take care of your Prince2 quality log example.
You’re going to need to take care of your Prince2 quality log example. You don’t want to leave it like that. When you take it out of its box, you’ll be taking it out of your back yard, and that means it’s going to get attacked by lots of bugs and other things that are going to attack it.
You’ll find that the sap on the bottom of your logs is going to be clumpy. You’re going to need to do something about that.
The sap is there because the sap-eating bugs have found your logs and they’ve figured out a way to eat the sap off of them. If you don’t do something about that, they’re going to stay on your logs and continue to eat them.
So, what’s the solution? That’s what I’m going to talk about in this article. Hopefully, you’ll follow my lead and you’ll learn how to do your own job.
You’ll need to clean the top of your logs. It’s OK to use a brush and soap, but when you use soap, make sure that you really scrub it into the sap on the bottom. That way, you’ll get all of the bugs off.
You’ll also need to clean off your logs every few weeks. As you probably know, these critters will find and live in your logs, so you’ll need to keep an eye on them and make sure that they don’t escape.
So, make sure that you’re keeping them there. You don’t want them escaping and getting all over your beautiful Prince quality log example. If you’re going to let someone else clean your logs, then at least make sure that they clean them well and consistently.
You may want to let someone else do the cleaning of your logs every couple of months. At least, they’ll do a good job and get rid of all of the bugs and other problems. Good luck!
