I like to start by defining my official positions in the organization. That way, if the person has a personality that matches my company’s requirements or expectations, they will fit my requirements and therefore, I can rest assured that they will also do a good job.
Then, I assign the following primary roles to each candidate. If they meet these roles, I will begin my research to get a better idea about the person’s skills and interests.
All candidates can start from primary roles. So, you can start from these roles and then go on to other roles. This is fine if you are well aware of the needs of your organization.
But, in the end, you can still hire someone for your project. The process can still continue until you have assessed the skills and experience of each candidate individually.
Consider first the preferences of your people. Will they have a clear understanding of what you need them to do? There is one more important thing to consider before you can actually go out to hire someone to do your Prince2 exam.
Focus on specific initiative for each person. You need to know that they have a specific plan on how they would complete your goal.
For example, let’s say that your employees have a plan for creating a brand new product or service that is completely unique. This can be very frustrating for you if you don’t know what exactly the needs of your employees are. And the only way to find out is to visit your employees.
If you visit the company’s operations center, you would get the plan of the employees from their own perspective. And if you want to evaluate what the employees need to succeed, you should also interview them personally. Of course, the interview will not be very long but you need to get a clear picture on what the employees can do and where they are most efficient.
If you don’t believe me that personal interviews can help you evaluate what employees can do, take a look at the growth of one of the companies I work with. They recently found an innovative professional ways to evaluate and train their employees to help them achieve their goals faster.
We evaluated each employee’s strengths and weaknesses so that we can determine what kind of organizational performance can improve our company’s productivity. You will be surprised to learn how much money we saved because we are able to increase our business’ productivity.
Have you ever had any bad experiences with hiring for projects? Did you find out that it was really hard to hire someone who will be effective to complete your Prince2 exam?
